VSAT

VSAT is an acronym for Very Small Aperture Terminal. VSAT is a continuous connection satellite system that requires a shore based hub system. Unlike the maritime Inmarsat communication system that handles the shore side interfacing, VSAT can provide direct satellite data or a telephone link into a company office PABX or WAN located ashore. VSAT is an extremely reliable but often expensive system to operate. Typically they are used where high data rates are required.
